Transfiguration Parish will be holding a children’s Halloween Party on Sunday, October 31 from 1-3pm at the Speigletown site. We will have arts and crafts, games and snacks. We ask that only friendly costumes be worn but costumes are not required. Come have some spooky fun!

Thank you to all who supported our $5/Bag Sale during September. It was a great success. It was so wonderful to be open again and see everyone! The $5/Bag Sale is over for now, but the regular Book Nook is open from9:00am until noon on the first and third Saturdays of each month, beginning Saturday, October 2. The October buy one/get one specials are on authors Fern Michaels and Debbie Macomber. The history, biographies, self-help, religious and cookbooks are 6/$1. Please stop brand see our many new donations. We request masks be worn while in the Book Nook. Donations can be dropped off at the church office. Please do not leave donations outside church doors. John Kelly, of Transfiguration Parish North, died December 21, 2020. His earthly remains will be interred at Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871, on Friday, October 1. Friends and relatives need to arrive at the cemetery entrance by 10:40 to line up in the cortege. The committal service will begin at 11:00, with full military honors. Deacon Chris Keough will officiate the service.
The North Site is in need of volunteers to help with counting the Sunday Collection. Money is counted following the 8:30 Mass. If interested, please call the Parish Office at 518-235-0337 Monday through Thursday 9-2.

“Healing the pain of abortion, one weekend at a time.” Rachel’s Vineyard is a retreat of healing and reconciliation for women and men whose lives have been touched by abortion. The retreat will be held October 22-24, 2021 at the Dominican Retreat & Conference Center in Niskayuna. The weekend will combine discussions, spiritual exercises, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, a Memorial Service and a Mass of Entrustment. Participation is strictly confidential and offers a beautiful opportunity to experience God’s love, forgiveness, and compassion. The cost is $195, which includes a private room, meals and retreat materials. Financial assistance will be available for those table to pay the entire cost. In celebration of Respect Life Month, Birthright of the Capital District, located in Ballston Spa, will conduct its annual Baby Bottle Boomerang Fundraiser after all masses on October 2 & 3. Birthright offers hope, encouragement, and compassion to pregnant women in difficult situations, as well as formula, diapers, clothes, and layettes with newborn necessities. Baby bottles will be distributed for you to take home and fill with coins, cash, or a check. Bottles should be brought back to church the following weekend and placed in the designated Birthright box. Your gift can be made in honor of a special person, whose name and address you list on the insert in the bottle. Birthright will then mail a card to the person being honored. The Pittstown Area Food Pantry is celebrating its 30th anniversary! Please join us on September 18 from 11-1 at the food pan- try, located at 97 Tomhannock Rd alley Falls. Catholic Relief Services Special Collection EMERGENCY RELIEF FOR HAITI Next weekend, September 11-12, we will hold a special collection for relief following the devastating earthquake in Haiti as requested by Bishop Scharfenberger and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. There will be a basket at the entrances of both churches for contributions. Please be generous as always in helping our brothers and sisters in the poorest country in the western hemisphere.
