There will be a special second collection at all Masses the weekend of October 3-4, 2020. The collection will sup- port the USCCB Bishops Emergency Disaster Fund for people impacted by the devastating wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods that have destroyed thousands of homes, businesses, and churches around our country. The funds collected by Transfiguration Parish will be sent to the Diocesan Finance Office, and forwarded to Catholic Charities USA and/or Catholic Relief Services, who serve as the official relief agencies of the U.S. Catholic Church. Let us all offer our prayers as well, for families who have suffered so greatly, including those who have suffered the loss of loved ones from these life-threatening storms.
Birthright of Ballston Spa is in need of office volun- teers. Join us for the next 3-part training session being offered this fall. We will teach you what you need to know. Classes will be held on 3 consecutive Tuesdays, October 6, 13, and 20 from 9 AM to 11 AM. Masks and social distancing are in place during training. In addition, when the office is open, Birthright volunteers and clients wear masks and can easily maintain social distancing in our spacious office. Call Susan at 518-430-7922 for details. In celebration of Respect Life Month in October, Birth- right conducts the Baby Bottle Boomerang at area churches. Empty baby bottles are distributed and just like boomerangs they come back to Birthright with checks, bills and coins. Un- fortunately, we are unable to host the Baby Bottle Boomerang this year due the pandemic. In support of the pregnant women we serve would you kindly consider participating in this major fundraiser through the mail? Mailing address is: Birthright, 1490 Saratoga Rd., PO Box 661, Ballston Spa, NY 12020. If you wish to make a gift in honor of a special individual, include the name & address with your donation. A memorial card can also be mailed to a family who has lost a loved one. The needs of the young pregnant women we serve is ongoing. We are there for them because YOU are there for Birthright. Thank you for sharing your love for life with us.
The Boscov's Friends Helping Friends Fundraiser is back this year, with of course some changes due to the Coronavirus! There will NOT be any paper tickets sold this year. Instead you can shop in person and/or online and when you checkout, simply pick Transfiguration Parish from the list to donate to. The event is being held on October 14th & October 15th from 9 AM to 9 PM. Shoppers get 20% off most items and then 5% of the proceeds go to Transfiguration. We are hoping many parishioners will partake in this event since we have not been able to hold our regular fundraisers due the pandemic. Let's get shopping!
Just a reminder that Transfiguration Parish recycles computer ink cartridges. We have a box for parishioners to drop their ink cartridges off in the vestibule on the way into the church. Please consider bringing your old ink cartridges in to recycle.
