Altar Servers (Acolytes): Altar servers serve at Mass and other liturgical services, such as funerals and weddings. Those volunteering will be trained in the proper practice of assisting at the altar. Altar servers can be male or female and must have celebrated their first Holy Communion. We also encourage adults and young adults to participate in this ministry.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist: This ministry helps distribute Eucharist at liturgies and to those in need in an orderly and reverent fashion. The Eucharistic celebration is enhanced by servant leaders who bring Christ to and se Christ in the eyes of each person with whom the Eucharist is shared. Training will be provided.
Greeters: This ministry is for those who like to meet new people and make sure all feel welcome. They also distribute worship aids and bulletins.
Lectors: Lectors proclaim the Word of the Lord at weekend and daily liturgies; and special liturgical celebrations throughout the year. Lay ministers will be provided training and are assigned to a Mass of their choice.
Music Ministry: Transfiguration Parish Music Ministries provides the community with vibrant celebrations of the Eucharist through musical celebration. There is a variety of opportunities for all parishioners; including children, teens and young adults; to offer their gifts and talents in this area throughout the year.
Sacristans: Sacristans are responsible for setting all items used during Mass or liturgical celebrations in place prior to the celebration, assistance is required to clean the items and return them to their proper place.
Ushers: Ushers take up the collection, make sure there is someone to bring up the gifts to the altar, and when necessary help direct the congregation at communion times.
